Architectural Contract
A common Architectural fee is 6%-8% of the Total Construction Cost of a project. This is often referred to as the AE Fee (Architectural/Engineering Fee) because it includes the Architectural, Structural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
The Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Acoustical/Media Engineering and other specialists are usually require additional fees.
Many architects will use a standardized AIA Contract offered by the American Institute of Architects. You can learn more about AIA Contract forms at this link http://www.aia.org/contractdocs/about/index.htm
The full AE fee (100%) of a Basic Services contract is often segmented into five parts, with the common percentages of the full contract listed below.
A Basic Services contract of an Architect usually consists of the following components (the percentages shown may vary slightly with various architects):
Schematic Design (15% of total fee)
Design Development (20% of total fee)
Construction Documents (45% of total fee)
Bid Negotiation (5% of total fee)
Contract Administration (15% of total fee)

These other services, sometimes offered on an hourly basis or lump sum basis, could include:
